Arizona Wedding Photography
Owner & Lead Photographer
I am Tricia Lacy, owner of the Lacy Photography Studios, LLC, thank you for visiting my website. I'm an Arizona native born (Scottsdale) and raised here (lived in Vegas twice briefly as a kid) in the valley.
I love to photography, I've had a camera in my hand since I was 5 years old no exageration (Polaroid Land Camera) it was so heavy! I took photography in high school, as a teenager I worked at Moon Valley Country Club, busing tables, my mom waitressed there. I became fascinated by the photographers. I followed them around to watch and talk to them, instead of busing tables. I stalked them you could say, I wanted to do what they did. It looked like like it was fun and exciting. I would go to Candid Wedding Photography Studios and look at the albums and huge enlargements on the walls, I was fascinated by how the photos were done and the posing.
I bought my first 35mm (Film) camera an Olympus in high school. If I wasn't taking pictures I driving cars (Hot Rods/Muscle Cars), in those days, those were the two things I loved growing up and still do! Over the years I have photographed weddings, kids, car events and concerts. Several years ago I decided to open my business after getting my first DSLR (Canon) camera, alot of equipment, experience, investment later and here I am..
Over the years I have taken thousands of photographs, my kids hated to see me with the camera in my hand. Now, a couple of my grandkids who are little love to have their photos taken. My grandson Mathew at less than 2 figured out how to click the shutter, watch for the picture, then turn the dial to scroll through the photos on one of the Canon's. Kids today are very smart.
I still get excited and sometimes cry (don't tell my clients) at a clients wedding, while I am photographing. It's the romance, the whole cinderella fairytale, the couple standing at the altar. Its the start of someone's lives together. It is the same when photographing babies and toddlers, you never know what they might do or what face you can capture for a great memory. I enjoy meeting new people, making friends goes hand in hand with photographing. Getting to know a client, capturing their wedding day, a family with little kids, new parents with a new baby, small children, teens who are going to be graduating soon, who have their whole lives in front of them.
Weddings are face paced, alot of photographers I know won't do them. Every wedding is different, but they all have moments that something goes amiss, schedule change, someone's running late or something is ready. You have to adapt, manage the crazy with the calm, learn to be a friend, wedding planner, help with a dress, veil or shoes, conflicts with family or friends. These things are "it could happen or what if it happens" you have to stay calm, don't lose your cool and help where and when you can to keep things moving. Being a photographer means "wearing different hats, at different times" and I don't mind doing it, it goes with the job!
Going out of my way sometimes to handle strange situations, I have had to break it to a bride the person walking her down the isle isn't there yet and telling a relative who is a groomsmen he is walking the bride down the isle and calming him down. Or telling a bride her cake hasn't arrived. When there is no wedding planner, you get to wear a couple hats and you make them fit. Staying calm is important under pressure and stress and still getting a their photographs is what I do for my clients.
Photographs of today, are what you have to look back on in your future, to keep for your memories alive for years to come. If you don't pay attention today, you miss those moments in your life, ones that can't be repeated, those should be captured for keepsakes!!!!!!!!!!!!
